We use the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) method of placenta encapsulation. Learn more about our 12-step process below.
I prepare the pot of water by putting fresh squeezed lemons, ginger and cayenne pepper into it. This is known to help with weight loss, energy, inflammation, migraines and healing.
The remaining piece of the umbilical cord is cut from the placenta. The umbilical cord is washed and cleaned (this is set aside for umbilical cord art as a keepsake for the mom).
The placenta is placed into a stainless steel strainer and washed thoroughly. (Note: the strainer has legs and sits up, off of the sink; The placenta never touches the sink.)
The placenta is then placed into the steamer. I squeeze fresh lemons onto the placenta and sprinkle cayenne pepper onto it.
The placenta is steamed for 30 minutes.
The placenta is placed onto a glass cutting board, on top of a stainless steel counter top.
The placenta is cut into strips and the strips are placed onto the dehydrator and dehydrated to the point where each piece can “snap” in half.
The dehydrated strips are placed into a glass blender and crushed/blended into a dry powder.
The empty capsules are counted out into a glass bowl. They are then placed into the capsule machine.
The dry placenta powder is then poured into the empty capsules. Steps 9 and 10 are repeated until there is no placenta powder left.
I put the placenta pills in the water bottle, and then in a labeled box/bag.
All equipment and workspace is thoroughly sanitized.
